Richard comes from the UK's Satellite Applications Catapult, a government-established not-for-profit technology innovation centre tasked with accelerating the growth of the UK space industry. Richard served as the Director for the market-facing "Explore Markets" and "Climate & Sustainability" programmes that built upon many years as the "Head of Technology Solutions" and the "Head of Applied Digital Intelligence" teams, which include the Catapult's Earth Observation (EO), GIS and data science capabilities.
Before the Catapult, Richard worked for Airbus Defence and Space for more than ten years, focusing on the exploitation of EO/geospatial data, including the building and operations of satellite ground segments and new mission concepts.
Steve Spittle previously worked as the Global Extractives Industries Technical Lead at the Satellite Applications Catapult. Within this role, Steve engaged with stakeholders across the mining sector, from large multinational commercial companies to governments and investors, creating satellite-based solutions. Before this role, Steve held two additional positions at the Catapult. The first was as Senior Earth Observations Specialist, designing and developing EO technology demonstrations and concepts. The second role was Emerging Technology Lead in Digital, focusing on AI, visualisations and quantum.
Alongside these roles at the Catapult, Steve spent three years as a technical and business mentor for satellite start-up companies across Europe as part of the Copernicus Accelerator programme. Finally, Steve is a non-executive director of Lux Aerobot, an exciting Canadian high-altitude platform start-up.
Estel is the Senior Business Development Manager at GlobalTrust, with a strong background in opportunity identification, data analysis, and public communication. Estel is an Aerospace engineer with over ten years of experience working in the UK, Spain, and the USA. She is responsible for developing strong partner relationships to maximise commercial exploitation opportunities, market analysis and stakeholder management (national and international), and maintaining and reporting sales performance.
Previously, Estel was the Head of the Extractive Industries Programme at the Satellite Applications Catapult, where she helped create and maintain meaningful partnerships, establish a presence in new markets and build on relationships for the space industry in the mining sector, with a critical focus on South America.
Pritimoy is a Senior Geospatial Engineer at GlobalTrust. His current responsibilities include designing and developing geospatial solutions, managing the company-wide cloud-based applications, and leading the development and maintenance of the CI/CD pipelines. Specifically, Pritimoy has demonstrable knowledge in procurement and management of EO datasets. He is also very familiar with the AWS infrastructure, including the design and development of secure, scalable and highly available cloud solutions.
Pritimoy previously worked as Senior Development Engineer at Deimos Space UK Ltd. Within this role, Pritimoy designed and developed the commercial agricultural service KORE (a precision farming solution), operational since 2017. Pritimoy also held two additional roles in Deimos. The first as a System Engineer, to perform the requirement analysis, Services4EO (SAT4EOCE project) platform design, and coordinate several technical teams to reach the common goal. As a Technical Lead, the second role was managing several projects like S4EO-ETI, APPIDE, SIBELIUS, etc., to build the backend pipelines for Earth Observation applications using both low and high-resolution Satellite sensors. Pritimoy is also a Certified Scrum Master and has experience of managing several scrum teams in the past to follow the Agile software development practices.
Rowan is an EO Data Scientist at GlobalTrust. His key responsibilities include managing and supporting the creation and delivery of a portfolio of user-driven satellite EO and geospatial technology projects, demonstrations, products, and services. Additionally, Rowan writes and contributes to technical reports and presentations delivered to various stakeholders, contributes to the creation of project proposals and quotes, and supports engagement with existing and prospective clients. With a background as a geologist, Rowan has focused most of his career on Earth observation.
Rowan previously worked as a Structural Geologist in CGG’s Satellite Mapping team, working and leading projects predominantly involving extensive infrastructure in the oil and gas and mining, environmental and geothermal sectors. The role involved various tasks, including creating satellite-derived geological content, creating geological cross sections and restorations, leading the company seeps to seismic work, and being the geoscience lead in developing machine learning-based solutions.
Liisa is Senior Business Development and Sustainability Manager at GlobalTrust. She is located in Sweden and is responsible for GlobalTrust’s business development on the Swedish market. In her role, she focuses on stakeholder management, partnership development and sales. She also functions as the company sustainability manager leading GlobalTrust’s internal and external sustainability efforts.
Liisa holds an M.Sc. in Cognitive Science and has 20+ years of work experience in Europe and Africa. Before joining GlobalTrust, Liisa held several management positions focusing on sustainable business development and strategy in the energy, space, and ICT industries. Liisa also has a position as a board member for a Swedish NGO focusing on educational development in West Africa.
Euan Harvey is a Business Development and Project Manager at GlobalTrust. He is researching sustainability within the space sector, specifically Spaceport operations and the effect on environmental sustainability. He is working with key stakeholders within the UK space sector and global partners, reviewing the sector's environmental and social challenges and what solutions can be provided.
Euan is a recent BA (Hons) graduate from the University of Stirling and brings a business and sustainability background to GlobalTrust. He has previously conducted research into the environmental sustainability of the Scottish space sector and the influence of Net-zero emissions targets on the industry. Euan is also involved with the UK strategy for sustainable space activities reviewing key industry issues such as sectorial emissions, space debris and business interaction with policy.
Ewan is another of our EO Data Scientists at GlobalTrust. His primary roles will be to assist in the ever-growing satellite EO and geospatial technology projects and contribute with his EO expertise. Ewan is keen to continue to learn and expand his remote sensing and geospatial knowledge at GlobalTrust.
Ewan previously worked at CGG as a Remote Sensing and GIS Specialist in the Offshore Exploration team. This involved more traditional oil exploration and several growing pollution monitoring projects across the globe. Furthermore, he was part of the more recent Environment team, focussing on biodiversity, wildfires and peatland & forest monitoring. Ewan was particularly interested in the health of Scotland's peatland and the fires' effects on these habitats.
Samaresh is our Web GIS Developer. He is responsible for creating and presenting demonstrations, working alongside the technical team to develop operational products and services, helping to shape the company’s strategy and supporting business development. His primary role is to design, build, deploy, and maintain web-based geospatial applications using JavaScript libraries and frameworks. Develop proof of concept for web applications to showcase new ideas. Writing technical design specifications and support documentation for web-based applications and conducting training for end-users are also included in this role.
He has more than 17 years of experience in software development and previously worked as Principal Software Engineer at iXora Solution Ltd. (Bangladesh). He has experience developing different applications using Sharepoint, Jquery, React, Angular, TerriaMap etc. His last project was the SharePoint CRM application, where he had to perform different activities like Design, Development, Azure deployment, client support, etc. As a senior member also needed to lead multiple projects and manage different resources, including managing tasks and helping with technical challenges.
Suresh is a DevOps Engineer at GlobalTrust, where he plays a key role in supporting the implementation of the company's technical strategy. He achieves this by automating development and release processes, managing cloud deployment and infrastructure, and conducting performance assessments. Suresh is also responsible for identifying and developing software updates and fixes, ensuring that development follows established processes, and providing support for front and back-end development as needed. He is dedicated to creating high-quality outputs that make a positive impact on clients and society.
Suresh holds a master’s degree in computer science from Northumbria University and has two years of work experience in the UK. He has proficient skills in managing the software development lifecycle, implementing branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and build and release activities with an agile mindset. In his previous role, Suresh played a critical role in developing and automating data pipelines using Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and ELK. With his expertise, he has successfully built and deployed managed services on the AWS Cloud.
Marta is the Marketing and Communications Specialist at GlobalTrust. She is responsible for creating and implementing digital marketing strategies, providing market intelligence, creating promotional content, and identifying key events and speaking opportunities to attend.
With an eclectic background, Marta has worked in the film industry, in academic administration, sports management and in organising events. Her constant need to learn new skills brought her to digital marketing, SEO and content creation. She has over six years of experience creating engaging content for social media, blogs, news sites and webinars. She is passionate about creating content and communicating the exciting work GlobalTrust does.
